First Card Exchange of the Year!!

Today is the first card exchange of this year!  We started the card exchange when Paper Vineyard was still around.  This is our third year of meeting once a month and exchanging theme based cards.

It is a great way to socialize (of course!) plus share different tips, card layouts and techniques. Although the exchange started in a scrapbooking store it doesn't require monthly purchases. items.  In fact, all of us take pride in utilizing goodies we already have.

It also is a monthly discipline in getting your assignment done!  This month the theme is birthday cards.  You can never have enough cards ready for certain occasions...and this is one of them!!

Here is a photo of my card for the exchange today.  It is a safe bet I would have something from Grapevine Designs & Studio on my card.  For this exchange I painted and used stickles to decorate the trio candles.  Super easy to do and with the black and green colors the card can work for anyone.

Send me an email if you are ever interested in joining the card exchange group.  The date, times and themes are already set for the year so it can be easy to figure out which exchanges would work for you.

Happy Sunday,
Adriana

Fresh Friday

It's time for a new fresh Friday, with new product from Grapevine Designs & Studio LLC.

This week we take our flourish heart and super size it to 9" tall.  It makes a lovely heart to display for your favorite person.
The project is made from a three piece set, the large chipboard heart, the wood heart with the cut out flourish in it and the word love.

In this project, we took the paper in an old pattern and used mod-podge to apply it to the chipboard heart.  We covered the front and backside of the heart keeping the holes clear to hang the project.  The wood heart is painted in acrylic silk paint.  The LOVE chipboard word is embossed with UTEE.  The three pieces are glued together and flower added plus strung up with some ribbon.  The entire project takes less than an hour to put together.

This is the product from Grapevine Designs & Studio that we used to create the Love Hanging.
The simple script word adds a lot of flair to the project.

Fresh Friday

Ringing in a new year is always a good time to be brewing some new products and inspiration.  The Tea Time scrapbook page features our Tea Time chipboard words (that have been embossed in Ranger Vintage Photo) and the Tea Set wood embellishments.  We actually didn't doctor up the three wood piece set at all.  Just used some glue dots and added them to the layout.  The tea pot and two cups added a nice vintage look.

The layout also has two of  the embellishments in our new Tea Time toothpick set.  The set are made from wood and are etched to add a beautiful flair to them.  The set includes a sugar bowl, cup, toast, tea pot and a toothpick that says Tea Time.

Used an embossing plate to add some texture to brown cardstock and added a little bit of bling on to a paper doily.  All of these items matched beautifully with paper from the Mad Tea Party collection by Marion Smith Designs.

I am in the photo with my grandmother.  This photo was taken two summers ago so she would be 95 years old in the photo.  Truth be told there is probably coffee in the cup in the photo.  She is the only thing cuter in the scrapbook page then our new toothpicks!

TGIF....I hope you enjoyed this Fresh Friday look!
