Postcard Travel Book

One aspect of crafting that I love is transforming something into something else.  Ink, powders and paints help to add so much dimension and character to any project.  Everyone can literally start out with the same pieces but the projects all turn out different.

This is Grapevine Designs & Studio's Postcard Travel book.  It has wood front and back covers and three chipboard pages.  Very simple, a starting point I just adore!  The wood covers were random stamped with a script stamp that I have owned for ages.  Embossed with Ranger Copper embossing powders and then I added distress stains (three different colors) to create the well traveled look.

Painted the chipboard Top Dress form with acrylic silk paint and then added a few pearl bling at the waist.  Layered on top of a birdcage to make the silhouette of a dress.  Used the birdcage to trace the paper to glue behind the birdcage.  Used my stash to add flowers, a black embossed stamped image and of course more bling.

Top Dress Form #27109  Three per package $2.50

 Birdcage #27131 $2.50

Mouse Trap Magic

Had a lot of fun today turning a 3" x 7" mousetrap into a Halloween scene.  The paper is from Authentique, the mousetrap from ACE Hardware and the RIP coffin, zombie, flames and bats are all Grapevine Designs & Studio.  The final step was to spray the whole thing with glitter.

My fingers are a sticky mess because I kept fussing with the paint and spritzing I did but it was all unnecessary stressing as all the embellishment pieces covered most of it up.

Nine more costume and candy shopping days left.....

Ten More Days Until Halloween

It's time to start working on our spooky.....

This spooky tag is made with a lot of fun, Dylusions spray for the background, translucent paste through a stencil for texture with some random stamping.  The two chipboard skull embellishments (by Grapevine Designs & Studio...of course) were enhanced with primary elements powders.  The rest of the tag was dressed up with ribbon, brads, flowers and a metal bird from my stash drawer.  The purple Spooky word was painted with Snap Dragon acrylic silk paint.  It took about 45 minutes to do and was just layers of fun.

I hope you are finding time to get your spooky on!

Throw Back (CRAFT) Thursday

One of our favorite techniques.  Random stamping on a paint chip card.  Cut paint chip card down to fit on a standard 4.25" x 5.5" card base.  I stamped the same image on white cardstock and used colored pencils to color the image in.  Fussy cut out the flower, stamped a sentiment and decorated with flowers.

Let Them Eat Cake!!!

New product for your birthday celebrations!  This cutie is my grandson at his third birthday party last year.  Obviously a batman themed event but his obvious cuteness outshined his batman hero.

The layout features our new "Let Them Eat Cake" wood words/letters plus candles and party hats from the celebration packet.  The wood items have stickles covering them and the party hats we added a little bit of paint on the top of each.  The fun layout features paper from Pebbles new Birthday Wishes collection.

Super easy to put together and I'm so happy with his little face looking back at me.  Here are some other samples and a summary of products.

All our items can be purchased on line at our web site www.GrapevineDesignsAndStudio.net or you can give us a call at the studio 480-656-2058.  If you go to our website go to the "Store" tab and these items can be found in Home Life or under Wood.  The possibilities are endless.  Thanks for checking this project out.
