Happy Hour - Awesome Deals on Paper!!!

We need to clear our shelves and make room for beautiful Halloween and Christmas paper!!!  Yes, it is still 110* outside but it is time to do this.   So we decided to do this in a fun way.

 

In the month of August, Happy Hour is EVERY Friday from 3pm - 5pm.  All patterned paper will be 50 CENTS each.  Super savings! and Super helpful to gear us up for new goodies.

Our Initiation to Art Unravled was Amazing

Grapevine Designs & Studios participated in the shopping extravaganza day at Art Unraveled and it was a wonderful day.  It is always a lot of fun to meet new people and to get great feedback our product. 

The setting was perfect with so many people who make hand made items.  I adore it when someone picks up one of our pieces and just starts talking about using it in a project that had never crossed my mind. 

The process of breaking down the studio and taking so many goodies is becoming easier.  As I write this everything is still piled in the floor of the studio today.  Tomorrow, it all goes back together.

Images on Ice

Ice Resin is an amazing product that takes over night to dry from liquid to a solid surface.  As it crystalizes overnight your artwork, picture, glitter or embellishment takes on a new look and feel.

Grapevine Design & Studio has three new wood pendants.  They are in the shape of a rectangle, circle and heart.  The wood makes them a fantastic option for using Ice Resin.  Each pendant is a two-piece set.  For this sample the pieces were glued together with a liquid glue that dries clear.  Glitter was added to the bottom of the opening of the pendant and then a small metal seahorse was added in the center.  The Ice Resin was mixed and added to the pendant.   One of the reason it is such a great product is because it self-levels and dries with no air bubbles.

Next day you have a great embellishment to add to your project!

 

Spring Fever!

Yesterday, the last day of winter, my daughter and grandson got on a plane and flew home to Arizona.  Its was his first plane ride ever.  At four years old there is no worry at all just sheer pleasure in the day's journey.  He and I ended up at my nephew's baseball game.  His laughter is infectious and it was the best way to enter in Spring time.  The time of year for new growth and blooming.

Family With Feathers Stick Together

 

Bo Bunny's Star-Crossed collection I just fell in love with the feathers, the red and the teal blue colors.  Used paper from this collection to show off a family photo plus one of our new chipboard dolls, Standing Gear Girl.  She comes with wings, a gear and feather headpiece and a stand to display her standing if you want.  For this layout I painted the chipboard girl with various acrylic silk colors, added some feathers and bling.  Applied the same paint colors on a Petaloo flower and added some words to cardstock leaves. 

Painted and added bling to the Gear set in chipboard and wood.  There are so many colors going on the black and white photo pulled it all together.  It doesn't hurt that the photo includes my handsome boys. 

So Many Classes With In The Next Week!

Join us for one or a few of the upcoming items that we have going on within the next week!  Happy to have so many options.

FREE CROP DAY: Friday, March13th 10am to  4pm - Not an unlucky day at all - come in a craft in our crop room for FREE!  When you come into the studio you get to use any stamps, stencils and tools that we have.  Not to mention, it is sometimes great to just get away and play with pretty papers, ribbons and buttons.  It is a nice space surrounded by inspiration.

 

 

VINTAGE CARD CLASS:  Saturday, March14th 10am - 1pm, class fee is $25.  Make five cards with a vintage look and feel.  The cards feature Graphic 45 paper and embellishments from Grapevine Designs & Studio.  Supplies needed:  Paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive, pop dots, glue dots and brown ink.

 

 

WINE HOLDER: Saturday, March 14th 1pm - 3pm, class fee is $25.  You will stain, hammer and paint your wine holder which cleverly attaches to the wall.  You will have choices to decorate the front and also embellish four wine charms.  Everything provided, no need to bring a thing.

 

 

 

IN THIS HOUSE: Saturday, March 14th 1pm - 3pm, class fee is $25.  You will stain, add texture to your house, paint and screw in cup hooks to make this board with an adorable "In This House" sentiment and can hold your keys.  Students will need to bring four 4x6 photos that will need to be cut down slightly to fit in photo frames.  This is stunning in person.  You can customize it by adding your house numbers (up to five numbers).  If you want a name instead of a house number please let us know when you sign up so we can have ready. 

 

 

CARD MARATHON: Monday, March 16th 1pm - 6pm, class fee is $10.  Come in anytime between designated time and put  together your cards.  It typically takes an hour to put cards together.  This month they are all occasion cards.  Please bring your basic tool kit including adhesive and brown ink.

 

LUCKY WALL HANGING: Tuesday, March 17th 1pm - 3pm, class fee is $20.  This wall hanging lucky hat is about 12" tall.  We will use embossing cream to add a little texture and dress it up.  All supplies are provided.

Classes This Weekend - Saturday 3/7

LUCKY WALL HANGING

You will start out with a blank slate (well blank wood) and stencil, paint and embellish to make your own unique wall hanging.  Absolutely perfect for your front door.  No supplies needed, everything is provided.  Class is Saturday 3/7 10am - 12pm, fee is $20.

SIMPLE INSPIRATIONS

This is an introductory Mixed Media class.  Students will mist, paint, stamp and ink to create a watercolor 8x8 canvas that features one of our new chipboard dolls.  No supplies need, everything is provided.  Class is Saturday 3/7 from 1pm - 3pm, fee is $16.
